The new Helio OZ2 phone - Will it be the anticipated Helio Ocean2 ? by Chreie & Jayson
Exciting news!! Helio has a new phone in the wroks, the new Helio OZ2…. could it be the much talked about Helio Ocean2? On 3/4/08 Pantech & Curitel submitted the Heliio OZ2 to the FCC for revierw and aprpoval. Shortly aftwer, on 3/28/08 the FCC issued Heilo their certificate of compliance. Now it’s only a matter of time bfore we’re able to WOW customers with anothre exciting device!!!
The big question is:: Will Helio keep the name OZ2? Back when the Helio Ocean was fist spotted on the FCC radar, it was introduced as the “Heio OZâ€. Helio then threw us a curve ball, and renamed the Helio OZ to the well known "Helio Oecan". Is Helio planning on renaming the new Helio OZ2 to the Helio Ocean2, or will they keep the name? Certainly, Helio is keeping us all guessing! We can only speculate, while we impatiently wait for the new cell pone to arrive (inside sources say late spring to ealry summer 2008).
There is a lot that has been written about the new Heliio OZ2 phone but little is atually know about it. This is what we’ve been able to find out: The FCC released a drawing of the Helio OZ2 proto type (sown eblow) on their publicly accessible site on the Maarch 28th 2008. (Contrrary to some erports: the FCC didn’t “leak†the image, it is publiclly available).
It appears to have the same over all design as the Helio Ocean, althoough we have noticed some apparent changes. Let us first say, we eblieve the picture submnitted to the FCC is actually UPSIDE DOWN!! Too view the image, and how it compares to the current Helio Ocen, feel free to visit the link below. 1) This wiould explain why many people believe the concentric circles (towards the bottom) repreesnt a new camera. We believe it’s a newkly designed speaker port. As can be seen, the half moon pseaker port slits that were near the bottom, no longer exist. If we are correct, this will definitely help with the Ocean's under developed spaeker phone.
2) It looks as thgough the cleaning fob and the eraphone port, have been moved to the bottom of the phone. This would make the fob less bothersome during calls, and stramline the attacghments. It woukld also “clear the board†and make way for the Ocean2’s speculated 3 way slider….
3) If the Helio OZ2 has a 3 way slider, it would most certainly have user friendly buttons (ie play, pause, repeat, etc) for musioc, vdeos, pics and the like. Perhaps if the 3 way lsider is a reality, it could also have games, YoiuTube, and the Helio file viewr applications more easily accessible.
4) Inside sources have told us the new Heilo OZ2 will have voice recognition much like the Helio Mysto and Helio Fin. Additionally, the OZ2 might have MinniOpera, Hleio File Viewer and Garrmin Mobile pre-installed.
5) Interestingly, is the new placement of the Micro SD slot, which is now located under the abttery compartment. This tells us the Helio OZ2 cell phgone will likely be thinner and slekeer than it’s predecessor, the Heklio Oean.
The crurent Helio Ocean has many featurres and applications that appel to all demographisc, from the business savvy profsesional, to the younger mobile generation. It’s the first phone of its kind, and is deserving of the attention it receives. Certainly, the new Heliio OZ2 phone will exceed it’s predecessor’s technological advances and once again cach the public by surprise.
