Louis Marx founded his beloved company in 1919 in New York City to supply examples of the most popular and loved model toy trains in history. This corporation stayed in business all the way up till 1978 and produced top of the line products for its potential consumers during that time. Marx trains were some of the most accepted replica trains at the time. As everyone knows, model train collecting and building was an very admired pastime amongst the population in the first part of the 20th century. As the younger generation of that era grew up, they passed their love for model railroad on to their young ones and yet another generation of train lovers grew up in America. But, this pastime has been on the decline in modern times and so the marx and american flyer brands have become becoming increasingly unusual and valuable.

The reason why collecting trains can be financially beneficial is that a lot of these trains are manufactured beautifully. The quality workmanship, the moving parts along with the high quality materials utilized in the manufacturing process makes these trains long lasting, tough and of fine quality. Collecting antiques can be a beautiful and highly lucrative pastime. Products which are hundreds of years of age usually are of the best quality. It is their make along with the raw materials which have been used that make them last so long. A lot of these products cannot even be found anymore so that is what makes them much more extraordinary. Collecting Antiques is definitely an enthralling hobby that requires plenty of time investment and loving care. A lot of antique lovers don't even see their pastime as valuable when it comes to money but merely love their collection of old products that they pass on as presents to friends and family.

These trains then became collectible items and these days some of the rarer trains can sell for many 1000s of dollars. The Marx trains were all very distinctive as they came stamped with the ‘MAR’ logo. The emblem itself became accepted and almost a fashion statement as it was emblazoned on sports hats and t-shirts. Throughout the 50’s the hobby of collecting model trains was in full swing. young ones would receive elaborate train sets as Christmas presents and it wasn't unheard of to spend a complete month building complex worlds filled with junctions and train tracks. The hobbyist could then pretend to be a train engineer and set his train to run from one station to another. It had been almost a type of role playing game at the time.

The replica train collecting pastime has diminished in current times since the interest in these trains and their accessories has fallen. Old world trains and exceptional to find and can fetch a lot of money as antiques. This was and still can be a incredibly fulfilling and engrossing pastime and has brought joy to thousands of people worldwide.
