My concern here is that those that write and publish concerning moving aren't movers. Instead these are of us who as a result of they need moved, now believe that their expertise qualifies them as experts. I see articles written by land professionals, employee recruiters and mom's attempting to earn a buck by writing regarding their moving experience. Some of the knowledge in these articles will be useful however by and large it is not accurate and will get you in hassle during your move. A recent article I read was written by a mini-storage owner/manager. Although he gave the impression to be providing data on how to complete a "low cost" move, several statements inside this text were not accurate and really solely provided reasons to use mini-storages. I feel that mini-storage corporations provide a valuable service, but owning or managing a bunch of garages for folks to put their belongings in doesn't qualify you to show people about moving. I have had many surgeries and nonetheless don't write how-to articles regarding ACL repair. I have eaten some of the most amazing food; yet do not write how-to cook or food articles.
One among the biggest misuses of the term "moving professional" that I've got seen, was on the web site of a freight company that give trailers for people to load themselves. They have a full department of "moving consultants". They even give a "bio" for every of these individuals. Although they might be fine individuals, the sole expertise they need in moving was when they moved to require that job after they graduated from college. Not a single person of their "experts" (consistent with their bio) had ever worked as or for a Professional moving company. This specific company may be a freight company. If they were a moving company, than they would be obligated to many Federal and State regulations regarding client protection and rates that they currently don't follow. They are a "Freight Company". Here once more I should say, they are doing offer a service that may meet the requirements of the many people, but they're not expert movers - simply truck drivers with empty trailers.
Customarily, this information is free. However if you wish free moving advice, you really need to call a professional mover. They sometimes provide a free in home estimate and during this method could provide some recommendation on how to organize for your move, most are terribly friendly. Don't hesitate to raise heaps of questions. You will not select to use the mover, but you will be shocked to find it not as expensive as you thought. Very few people fully calculate the true price of moving yourself compared to that of employing a mover. If they would - additional folks would use skilled movers. There are lots of excellent resources regarding moving provided by the folks who do it for a living. Trust the $64000 experts not the pretenders.
