An online counselor wanting at the good vacuum in that means at the center of civilization as expressed in Conspiracy films (DVD).
Some stories are invented to account for the shortage of power in the postmodern climate.
Conspiracy, "is the poor person's cognitive mapping within the postmodern age" - Fredric Jameson.
These stories share the read that somebody or those who benefit are wielding their power illegitimately.
During the last week, I spend your time watching the activist film Zeitgeist (DVD) together with alternative more non secular activist movies from different countries. Simply remember that I am not recommending these films and I don't suppose that you need to confront your life, yourself or your culture with them.
"'Zeitgeist' refers to the ethos of an identified cluster of folks, that expresses a specific world read that is prevalent at a specific amount of socio-cultural progression."
For me the read expressed in the film (DVD) Zeitgeist is that our truths are a manipulation of politics, economics and religion. This was indeed an idea provoking viewing experience. As a viewer, I was at awe with the logical capabilities of Jacque Fresco. I think that viewing this story and hearing its logic can leave a person with a sense of personal powerlessness, since the main target is on the power of corporations and the elite of the world. Viewers might experience an 'the top of the globe' feeling (a lot of thus in the opposite films). This combined with this state of world economics could cause a person to experience additional doubt, despair and a way of meaninglessness. Pragmatic thinking and logic can also create a sense of emptiness.
In the Zeitgeist film hope and lightweight are expressed within the 'believe' (science is also a narrative in attempting to understand the planet) that the language of science and technology is the only way. There is additionally some talk of behaviorism being very important to the current future. Those like me with a background in Psychology are in all probability aware of the 'dark' history of behavioral modification. I liked the story of unconditional love and connectivity, but did not hear of any further developments in this direction.
Surely even the kids born within the Venus project can additionally have 'why?' queries to life. Will it's potential to cut back 'their questioning' to singular meanings like scientific / pragmatic language seeks. Will we tend to really eliminate storytelling / meaningfulness / religion?
Remember that the Christian story was once good news for the oppressed.
We have a tendency to connect by stories. We also expertise isolation, disempowerment and problems when our intentionality and storytelling are not voiced / legitimized within stories that contain dominant or constrictive "truths" concerning ourselves. Our own storing will conjointly prohibit us from experiencing alternative attainable meanings and actions.
