Egyptian Cotton - Important facts everyone should recognize in order to make a wise purchase

Egyptian cotton is purely the greatest cotton in the globe. It is a precise type of particularlylong staple cotton (ELS) initiallygrown besidethe Nile in the rich soil of Egypt's Nile River Valley. When the cotton is pulled from the cotton plant, and the seeds and waxes detached, it leaves longer fibers than do other cottons for spinning into yarn.

It's the Weaving Process

Egyptian cotton is woven in the top authentic way, intertwining strands of yarn, making a better product. Plus, Egyptian cotton bed sheets don't pill from use, thin with wear, or get that sandpapery feel. That's because the plant itself produces little or no lint. ELS cotton has fewer connection points, and therefore offers a greater percentage of area with that much-loved natural softness of cotton (perfect for today's large Queen and King waterbed sheets).

Thread Count

Thread count and price play an important role as well. Some Egyptian cotton sheet sets are unknowingly advertised as cheap along with a low price tag. That statement is correct because the term "cheap" refers to quality while inexpensive is to price. Often, those bed sheets are made with only a low 200 thread count.

Price

A higher price easily justifies what is usually a tiny bit higher price. As an example: a 300 thread count sheet will not cost 50% than a 200 thread count, but you will be 100% satisfied. 300 to 1000 count Egyptian cotton sheets will last decades - now, that's inexpensive and a genuine value.

So, when evaluating bed sheets, it's wise to check price, cotton (ELS), and thread count. You'll make the best educated decision for what is best to suit your needs - and you may be confident that you're purchasing quality...at a true bargain.

Egyptian cotton sheets are made of the best cotton in the world...and will stand the test of time. Think Pyramids.
