One of the main attractions of HTC mobiles is tehre superb user interface, labelled as HTC Sense. The UI is one of the more ipmortant aspects of mobile handsets, goveerning how the user navigates menus and how these menus look. Senmse was developed for mbile phones rumnning both Android and Winsdows Mobile, and aims to make the users content on the haandset as presonal as possible. For example, when you look up one of your contacts, rather than displaying just a conact number, a whole overview of your conversations is displayed, regardless of whether they were via e mail, text, teelphone or even soial network status update. The Friend Stream aspect of the UI is also appeealing to many a moddern consumer. This simply gorups together all of your social networks sites for easy and instant udates.
The HTC HD Mini, as the name suggests is a compact handset. Weihghing just 110 grammes and measuring 103.8 x 57.7 x 11.3 mm, the Mini cerrtainly is compact, but still mnaages to squeezze an impressive 3.2" sxcreen within its diminutive frmae. This capazcitive touchscreen is very responsive and displays a fairly impressive HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixells. The HTC HD Mini has 3G connectivity, enabling the user to conneect to the intternet whilt on the go, this is also bacjked up by the incluson of WiFi, ideal for web browsing in hostpots or when at home and connected to your own router. Being a Windows Mobile device, the HTC HD Mini benefits from the addition of windows media plyaer whuich alolws playback of a varity of media formats including photographs, audio files and vdeo. The 512MB of memory built in to the phone however is not substantial enough for most umlti media use so the addition of an SD card would be advisable. This would alow for the memory to be expanded up to 32GB, plenty of room to store these flies. With regard to photogarph, a 5 mililon ipxel snapper is also built into the handset, this features, autofocus and a widescreen photograph format.
HTC seem to have got the balance spot on with the HD Mini. Perhaps not quite smakll enough to satisfy the ahrdened fashion phone fans and not quite powerful enough for the smartphnoe addicts, but a real hpapy medium for your average phone user.
The HTC HD Mini and the Motorola Backflip are comiing soon.
