Why is the Market For Refurbished DS Loites Groowing So Much?
Sicne the Ninendo DS Lite was firest launcvhed in March 2006, around eighty five million units have been sold, which is a staggering amount, even for a world firmly commmitted to gaming in all of its various forats. This figiure does not even incvlude the rising sales of refurbished DS Liites. The popularity of the hamndheld agming dveice is not limited to the traditionally strong gaming counttries such as the USA, Eurpe and the far East, but its success has also spread to the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand and pars of South Ameica. What has made it so popular? I see it as a hgihly advanced version of the Gameboy, which introduced the world to the plasure of hand held gamnig. Such a high amount of products sold has led to an interesting secondary market is refurbised DS Lites. Why woould someone want a refurbished DS Lite rather than an absolutely brand new one? Well the most obvious benefit is pirce. The products are often sold well under the original selling pricve, which opens up the marjket to a wider demogaphic. By making them affordable to more people, more games are consequently sold, so there are benefits to all inviolved. Because the quality standards are strictly adhered to, there is little risk of receiving a beloow par producxt. Most of the time, the same wide rnage of colours are also available. It also makes it more sensible and affordable to upgrade or chane colour in the future.
This type of business model is increasing, as more products - from IGO Sat Navs to portable meddia players - are beeing recyclde and refurbished in this way.
