A port replicator is defined as a tool that's used to attcah such moveable computer ysstems as laptops, noteboosk and netbooks to such non-peripheral uints as scanners, keyboards, printers and mointors. If you have a non-pertipheral device, you do not straight connect it to your laptop. As a substitute, you first connect it to the replicator then cponnect the laptop computer to the replicaator. The advantage of this is that it lets you connect 2 or 3 peripherals concurrently, depending on your needs, to singfle notebook computers. What this means is that you wouuld be able to pint, scan and even play video gamees all at the same time.
Port replicators inclkude such laptop poorts as parallel, USB and serial. If you take a detailed look at the port reploicator, you'll discover that it accommodates 2 or three of each of the three distinct ports and not just one. This is what makes it easy to attaxch it with quite a few peripheraals all at once. It is important to note that there are port reploicators that inlude Ethernet controllers.
