Ears Clipping For Pitbull

Adequate preparation is necessary if you wish to subject your pitbull to ear clipping. You must primarily be absolutely sure of your pet's age is ok for ear clipping. You will easily find a lot of people who are against the idea of ear clipping as it inflicts a lot of pain. There are cases where it is referred to as mutilation.

Does the question of why you clip your pitbull's ears ever dawn to you? Is it because you want to let him participate in a dog show? Even if yes, it is still an act which causes much grief and pain to your pet. If your reason is just purely for personal gratification and cosmetic, then please do not do it. It puts your pet at risk of getting an ear infection.

Put some nice clothes on them, take them for an afternoon for grooming, that also makes them look good! Perhaps add some accessories on their clothes? Surely your pet will love you more and more with everyday that passes by.

Dogs only have a few things to look forward to in their lives and ear rubbing is one of them. Clipping their ears will deprive them of that joy. The pain of having their ears cut and a piece of their flesh removed will traumatize them too much to trust anyone to touch their ears again! What is the benefit of hurting them physically and psychologically for the rest of its life spent with you? Till the day they die, they will forever carry that psychological pain with them.

It is the same as how one person would be afraid of the dark for the rest of her life after being robbed in a dark alley before. Fear doesn't just go sometimes. You may think that engaging a psychologist's help would make it all go away. Sometimes it just doesn't for us. Try imagine being a dog and asking for psychological help. That is not going to work. It is akin to praying for a miracle.

If you absolutely must have your pitbull's ears clipped, then you should at least do it at the right time of its age. There is an age period where the pitbull's ears are fine for clipping and you can't do it too soon before or too late after it. Doing it by yourself is the worst idea one could ever come up with as you are most likely to make a mistake. It is going to be a mess if you do so and most likely you may ending up causing the death of your pet. Before you think of doing anything, I strongly urge you to check your facts with a vet.
