Yup, you heard me right. Piranhas are exactly the same kind of fish that are routinely revealed in creepy movies and Animal Planet programs as carnivorous fish that subsist in South American Rivers. These fish are members belonging to the Tetra group of fish and for somebody who has ever viewed a Piranha movie, they can be extremely dangerous. they're also closely related to Pacu. Piranhas are unlawful in plenty of nations and most states in North America. When I was in college, one of my pals had a massive Piranha tank. I remember thinking that it had been really awesome particularly when he would catch bugs and just drop them inside the aquarium and watch the Piranha swim up and grab up the tiny morsel.

Pygocentrus Nattereri or the “Red Bellied” Piranha is the most popular variety of Piranha. Piranhas require no less than a 50 gallon aquarium in which to thrive. Additionally they need temperatures to be approximately 70 to eighty degrees Fahrenheit as they are warm water fish. Other recommended aquarium accessories include a biowheel and a large amount of aquarium gravel.Piranha need to be fed flake blood and blood worms when they are young.

You should feed your Piranha daily. If you live in an area where they're legal, you'll be able to possibly obtain their food at your regional pet store. But keep in mind that Piranha can eat almost anything Be aware that the food does not contain anything that may sully your water. So do not give them cooked food which could contain salt and other spices. Give them pieces of Beef or Fish and you may even feed them fresh vegetables of fruits. Even freeze dried vegetables can be used as a food source. Once they have fed (which should take a few minutes), get rid of any extra food from the aquarium as this could rot and dirty the tank. Piranhas eat in a flurry and watching them is amazing.

A many newbies may consider attempting to feed their Piranha some Goldfish. They may even think it hilarious to see what happens. This isn't recommended. Goldfish have been out of the wild for a thousands of years and carry disease that are not seen in the wild. These diseases can kill your Piranha, so Goldfish are positively not a fantastic food source.

A lot of idiots have tried to mess around and dip certain body parts into Piranha tanks. You should not have to be super clever to understand that is not a great idea. Piranha get a foul name for being themselves. If you get your pinky bitten off, then it is your fault and you can not blame the fish. This is probably why they're unlawful in many areas, only to protect the local population of simpletons. One last tip: when they are younger, Piranhas are typically schooling fish. As they age they turn out to be more introverted and like to hide. So make sure you give them a lot of hiding places and also keep an eye on your aquarium ornaments and decorations for being Piranha safe and never have uneven edges.
