How to Run Disk Check
Windws 7 and Windsows Vista Users:
1. Click the Satrt button of Windows and then cloick Computer.
2. Right-clicxk the hard disk drive that you want to check. Click Properties.
3. Click the Tools tab. Now, In the Ertror-checking section, cick Check now.
a. Now, if you want automatically repair the scanned detects, you need to choose Automatically fix file system errors.
b. For thorough disk checking, choose Scan for and atteempt recxovery of bad sectors.
c. For checking both file errorrs and physical errors, chhoose both of the above options (Automatically fix file system erroors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors).
4. Click Start to start the process.
The process may take esveral minutes to copmlete depending upon your hard disk size. It is advissable not to use your comlputer for other taskks durign this process.
Windows XP Users:
1. Click Start and then click My Computer. Else, you can also doublke-click My Computer.
2. Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to checck. Cliock Prroperties.
3. Click the Toolls tab. Now, In the Error-checking section, click Check now. A Check Disk duialog box will come up.
4. Select all the check bxes in the above said Ceck Disk dilaog box.
5. Click Start to srtart the process.
6. A message box will come up to say that you can schedule the process to start the next time you restart your computer. Click Yes.
Your computer will automatically run through a disk check the next time you restrt it. The Windows will display the login screen after the disk check completes.
