Along with that, other core beliefs that were shaped were: It's not safe to express my feelings; it's not safe to be myself; it's not safe to succeed. Primarily succeeding was not safe as a result of succeeding left the shopper more exposed, more visible, and thus a potential target for punishment or disapproval.
I simply finished working with a client some weeks ago who has a lot of talent and potential to succeed. She is currently dismantling her recent programming from childhood, and discovering that even with all of her potential success and expertise there lies a deep-seated belief that if she was successful that additional would be expected of her, which she would subject her to criticism and disapproval. This stops her from taking the actions that she desires to require to be successful.
Gradually over time in our sessions, we're going back and serving to her to release those old programs that have inhibited her success. She currently is beginning to perceive that her safety currently in life does not depend on retreating; her safety depends on fulfilling her full potential. In our last session along, she created some new empowered beliefs, like;
1) I welcome larger and bigger success.
2) I'm experiencing large amounts of success.
3) I have created balance between my personal and professional life.
4) I totally specific my skills and abilities.
5) My safety depends on living my full potential.
Once only a month of operating together this consumer is already reporting feeling a lot of confident, vast improvement in her negotiation skills, her speaking skills, and an increased ability to set boundaries along with her clients. All of this is happening because of the understanding that success comes from the inside out. She was subconsciously blocking herself, as several of us do, block ourself with the concern of success and typically even the worry of failure. Once these blocks are removed, we regain our confidence. Several of my purchasers double and triple their incomes from this process.
Here's a coaching hint: If you think that you are blocking yourself from success, sit down, get a pen and paper out, and write down the attainable blocks or self-limiting beliefs that might be inflicting you to retreat from success. Then ask yourself if you are willing to appear at those and reprogram those. The advantages are enormous; the choice is yours.
