Each time there is a stage hypnosis show, the stage hypnotist asks for volunteers to come on stage. Now, take a second to take into account that there is nothing powerful or secretive about asking for volunteers. If the stage hypnotist had so many mysterious powers to control people, then why is he asking for volunteers? This is our first warning that signifies stage hypnosis is a complete joke, because genuine covert hypnosis techniques do not require someone to volunteer.
The second warning sign of stage hypnosis is that during each and every stage hypnosis show, you will notice the stage hypnotist disqualifying many of the volunteers that came up on stage. The stage hypnotist will tell the volunteers to return to their seats and to enjoy the show. The question we must ask ourselves is why does the stage hypnotist do this? Why is the stage hypnotist disqualifying his own volunteers?

The explanation why the stage hypnotist gets rid of many of the volunteers is because the stage hypnotist is closely monitoring the volunteers to see if they are obeying his instructions. If a volunteer does not do just as the stage hypnotist says, the stage hypnotist disqualifies the volunteer because the volunteer is not following the instructions of the stage hypnotist. This proves stage hypnosis is fake, because if stage hypnosis was some dark art with gobs of hypnosis secrets, then how can people reject what the stage hypnotist says to the point where the stage hypnotist needs to disqualify them?

As the show progresses, more and more volunteers are disqualified. During the final phases of the show, there will only be a few volunteers left. These are the volunteers who end up clucking like chickens and doing embarrassing things so that the stage hypnosis looks to have some unexplained powers at work. But these volunteers are simply volunteering to do precisely as the stage hypnotist says. The stage hypnotist will even go so far as to tell the people that they will not recall anything that they had done on stage, and when the people appear to come out of trance, they do as the stage hypnotist told them and put on an act as though they can't remember anything that happened.

A person practicing stage hypnosis is not a authentic hypnotist. All a stage hypnotist does is assemble volunteers and then start to weed them out until he is left with the volunteers who are willing to obey each and every instruction the stage hypnotist gives them. So, people are not truly hypnotized during a stage hypnosis show, they are volunteering to act like that they were hypnotized.

There isn't much of a distinction between a Hollywood movie and a stage hypnosis show. This means stage hypnosis is a type of amusement and not a form of influence.
