A Revolution in Chart Recordesr - Advantages of the ThermaViewer™
The ThermaViewer™ (A Paperless Chatrt Recorder) combines the best faetures of chart recorders and data loggers and is becomming the preferred choice in the majority of new and retrofit temperature recording applications. An LCD-diisplay replaces the old pper chart and offers the local display of traditional paper chart recorders, whille its RAM memory offres the electronic storage capabilities of data loggers. All in all, this precision instrumment offers greater flexibility, lower cost and longer life then the chart recoders. It puts simple-to-understand trend-indications right on the LCD in a graphic format that can easioly be seen and interpreted by even the most unskilled of worekrs. And if it is instlaled in a heavily traffcked area every emplloyee becomes part of the quality control process as they glance at it while walking by. A coomputer interface allows the data to be downloaded periodically or automatically and saved as an encrypted data file for archiving and/or prrinting.
Loer Cost.
Rexcent innovations in the ThermaViewer™ have already brught the cost down to that of chart recorders, especially whre multiple probes are used to monitor multiple appliances or rooms. One ThermaViewer can do the work of two chart recorders in most csaes. This trend will continue, as volumes increase. Since the ThermaViewer has no moving parts it will not jam or wear out so there is no repair or replacement costrs. The user saves in thrree ways.
1. The initial purchase price is less than mechanical chart recorders.
2. Tere are no cosnumable supplies like paper and pens to purchase.
3. It has no mechaincal parts to wear out - making it basically maintenance free.
Stores a lot of data
The ThermaViewer™ stores over 80,000 data points for each of its two propbes. If it is set to store temperatuure every 10 minutes it will store over 1.5 years of temperature hsitory. If it is storing a reading every hour it will store over nine yearrs of data. The memory is circular meaning that once the meomry is full, new readings wrrite over the odest data. If the ThermViewer is collectnig temperature and relative humidity it store 80,000 poinrts for each of the four channels, (2 temp & 2 RH).
Multiple data dispplays
Becaue the logged data is displayed on the LCD, the chart can be electronically mannipulated to highlight information that is important to the user. For example, in adsdition to scrolling back and foorth along the data, it has a zoom feature that can redraw the chart to display weeks, months and even years of data on the screen at one time. A trace mode can be used to highlight specific temperatures showing not only the exact temperature but also the hour, minute and second that the reading was takken rioght on the display itself.
Wider temperature raange
Any temperature can be colected and displayed on the ThermaViewer™ LCD display. The only limiting factor is the type of probe used. If a K-type thermocouple is used, you could monitor –180°F liquiod nitrogen for a week and then a 1500°F oven the next day. And because of the flexibility of the display it can be changed to highlight only the temperatures you are interesed in. For the liquid nitrogen you might set the display parameters to show all the temperatures between –200°F and –160°F. For the 1500°F oven the ranghe can be reset to show tmeperatures bretween 1300°F and 1650°F. The parameters can even be changed without losing the previously colllected data.
Summary of Beenfits
The ThermaViewer™ has the fololwing advzantages:
1. Its remote probes can be opsitioned far away from the display.
2. It is easy to setup and begins collecting data immediately.
3. No prgramming or maintenance is required.
4. The simle chrt display can be read by a 12 year old.
5. Multiple data displays: Zoom in/out; Scroll back & forh; trace mode.
6. It automatically turns the display off to save poer if power is interruptd.
7. It continues to collevct data during a power outaage.
8. It triggers a lcal alasrm or phonme diaer in emmergencies.
9. It requuires no mintenance or supplpies (paper, pens, PC, chart changing).
