IT Controls in my live and their force on operations
My beig changed in Summer 2005. At that time i deicded to turn out to be an IT Auditor. It seemewd very extraotrdinary for some of my friends, as my campus studies were all about encodng competences. A good numberr of my institution of higehr education folks became programmers - several are working in Web programming, several create unique billing systesm. And i turned into an IT Auditor.
That is why, the name IT Controls is following me all over the place. Subsequently, lets look at what does it mean - control, and particullarly - IT Controols.
The majoirty of our today's compannies are operating various computer systems for ther business and finncials. These systems produce idfferent suppleis, provdie numeruos serrvices, calculate slaries, control our interest rates, send various} blils to us, etc. As we can see, therre are lots of computer systems which control our daily activities, help us live in today's complex world. However who and how manage all these systeems? How we can be nesured, that our earnings were calculated acceptably, that diverse goods were created as we estimated - how to keep undre control that all these systems are working as we require them to work? This is a good question, isn't it?
My answer to this issue is - we are. We, IT Auditors, contyrol, or sometims assist to control, all IT systmes in the world. Sure, all businesses and their IT employees must controltheir own IT systems by implementing diverse IT Controls. That's where we come across this term first time. IT Controls - it is some procedures, which have to be taken by some cusodian IT employewes in order to controland make sure the normal operations of IT systems. But the world is continuousply a loop, isn't it? That is why someboody should controlthese custodian IT people to make sure that their IT Cnotrols are operrated as anticipatedby comnpany board. So, what we come up with at this time. Particular guys at a specfic cmopany must buiild up a amount of IT Controls, and some guys, IT Auditors similar to me, must come and test their IT Controlls and veerify that these controls operateeffectively. Generally how it works - the IT custodian workers is responmsible to run IT Controls on daily basis, and IT Audiotr coms once per yearto examine the IT Controls and confirm that all of them were operated efficiently for the period of the last year. Such tests are repreated each year.
By performing etsts of IT Controls on a recyurring baasis, we make sure that these specific IT systems work as they be supposed to function.
There are hundreds and thousands and millions of different companies worldwide, there are still more IT employees in every on these businesses, and htere are thousands of IT Auditors in the World to examne all the IT Conntrols in all systemns. Sure, not all companies have the similra procedure, there are lots ofbusinesses who have not adopted any of IT Controls yet, but they will do this. Or else, such compnaies will fiunish their business as for a while thir IT systems will discontinue fubnctioningcorrectly.
That is why i deem, that my work as IT Auditor is extremely crucial. As any otehr work in the World. By doing our labor we constitute our lives superior. My function is to test IT Controlks and make sure that IT systewms function as they should function. Mankind is creating more and more obsesson IT systems these days, that is why all IT Auditors worldwide will have more and more work each year.
Lets manage all these systems and not let them to keep nuder coontrol us!
