Top husky training info is only helpful if the owner is eager to listen and adapt. Husky training requires the owner to take charge so that your husky has a good leader to follow. Although Huskies are very smart, it's wrong to presume that they are waiting to outsmart you. In fact huskies have a natural desire to belong and are waiting to conform so that the pack will accept them. Your huskies predatory instinct must not be interpreted as negative behavior.
Negative behaviors by your Husky are what you will probably want to address first. The best method that you can use when adjusting bad behavior is to target on moulding how their natural instincts come out in behavior. It is a big no no to flip out at your husky during training. Remember your Husky is looking for a strong leader, not a tormenter.
Foundation Husky Training [Tips|Information|Advice|Info|Hints}
There are a number of basic methods that a Husky owner should consider when beginning to train their cute, but often playful fluffy friend. These methods can make your life a lot less stressful as far as training your Husky goes.
Crate Training
Crate training gives your Husky with a territorial space or habitat that it can call its own. Crate training is a valid form or training and not a way to punish your husky. It is best practise to start off crate training your husky by making sure they are supervised 100% of the time. Your husky will adapt better to crate training if you keep them calm when you first start with them. Spend as much time as possible with your husky during initial crate training session so that they adapt better. Crate training can provide a good foundation for housing training, reducing barking and stopping anxiety type issues.
Leash Training
If you are coming up against a few obstacles when walking your dog on a leash, you should take a step back and make sure that your Husky is acting calmly before heading off for a walk. You will need to be patient with your husky when waiting for them to be calm. Once your Husky is calm, the likelihood of a good response to your commanded on your upcoming walk is greatly increased. The majority of dogs with leash issues simply are not conscious that it is not acceptable behaviour. When your husky tugs or pulls on the leash to advance ahead of you, calmly sit your husky down beside you for a few seconds and then continue walking. Your husky will quickly associate the pausing with their pulling on the leash.
The Alpha Position
As you may well be aware, Huskies are working pack dogs renowned for their endurance while working in a team. Being in 'The Alpha Position' is the act of providing your husky with a strong leader and a sure base in the home environment. Make it your priority to be a good strong figure for your husky. This way your husky will remain calm and happy because you are the leader and the provider of food and safety. As soon as your husky knows you will lead, provide and keep them safe, they will calm down and be more responsive to good training. Training your Husky will take time and the earlier you get this started, the less frustration you will face down the track.
Obedience Training
I personally recommended taking your Husky to obedience training lessons or at the very least puppy school. Your husky puppy really needs to socialize with other puppies and learning basic commands is a bonus of puppy school. After puppy school obedience classes are a great way for owner and husky to learn more complex commands and to sure up the alpha relationship. You may find that due to complacency by the owner your mature husky has developed some bad habits that need repairing through formal obedience training.
Husky Training Consistency
Staying consistent in your training and rules for your husky is the golden rule when it comes to husky training. It would be very confusing for your husky to have different places they are allowed to go in the house only for this to change from family member to family member. Huskies are intelligent but can be confused easy by mixed messages. Sitting down before crossing the road is a good example of how positive habits will teach good behavior. A husky that has consistent training is only too willing to please their owner. Make sure that everybody in your home knows the ground rules for your Husky to avoid mixed messages.
