What Makes Christian Marriages Stop

One of the most tragic dealings in a person’s life may very well be the loss of a spouse. It is even harder when that loss did not come from passing away but from separation. Christian marriages all over the world are ending in this very way. That may be the most evil testiment to what manner of love Christians are showing to each other.

The sort of love that leaves you is not the manner God has commanded Christians to have for anyone. That manner of love must not be what we have in our Christian marriages. As an alternative we must be living out what the Bible preaches about a love that never fails.

So why do Christian marriages end in divorce? If we could figure that out then possibly the planet would be changed. Imagine if the only group of people in the planet that did not separation were Christian marriages. It would change everything! As we teach our children about how to love like God loves the earth would see that and require it. A marriage that stays together no matter what the problem is a sturdy witness to the power of love. Coincidently the Bible says God is love.

There are many things that are brought up when it comes to why Christian marriages end. One of the biggest reasons given is sin. Often the wife will catch the husband in a carnal sin. Maybe he was searching at something he should not have been. This will cause her to feel a great range of emotions. She can feel hurt, anger, sadness, betrayed, she may even feel like her husband does not love her cause he wants to observe others.

Other times a woman can be too wrapped up in her children or feel the need to get out and spread her wings. Women now and again feel like their husbands hold them back. Numerous men do not let their wives work believing it to be against the Bible. While that is not true this can also be an area of contention.

Whatever the issue is our emotions are always key to the end of our Christian marriages. While we ought to feel decent feelings about our marriage it is not always the case. There are tricky times that come and challenges to face. Real love is not based on emotion though.

The Bible gives us some clues as to what real love does. It could be found in the book of 2 Corinthians. No place in this do we see that love is established on emotion. As a substitute the Scripture states that love is an action and not an emotion.

Possibly the real reason Christian marriages end is not from a lack of decent solid Christian marriage advice but rather from a lack of understanding how we are supposed to go about loving each other. It is a choice we must make in the good and the bad times.

When one person hurts the other love covers a multitude of sins. Your Christian marriage could live on through forgiveness, which you want to have if you are a Christian. Marriages the planet over can be saved if we simply followed how the Bible tells us to love.
