Menopause is something that every woman in the world is going to go through at some point in her life. It is just an inevitable part of being female. Lots of women actively put it off but the simple fact is, eventually, the female body stops having its monthly cycle. The start of menopause can be traumatic for many women especially if they are unfamiliar with menopause symptoms. There are all sorts of stories about what women go through when they enter "the change" but what real symptoms should women be looking for? Read this article to find out!
Perhaps one of the most widely recognized and heard about menopause symptoms is the "hot flash". "Hot flash" is the name of the sudden feeling of being too hot. Women who experience this will suddenly have a flushed face and begin sweating. It will feel, just for a moment or two, as if a person had suddenly and quickly turned your body's temperature up too high. Some women liken it to the experience they feel when they go from an air conditioned room to a hot sunny day, only more intense. Hot flashes can happen any time during the night or the day. A hot flash that happens during the nighttime is usually called a "night sweat." The irregular heartbeat is perhaps the hardest menopause symptom to find. This is when your heart will suddenly beat faster or slower without your having to do anything to prompt the change. A women sitting still, for example, might feel her heart momentarily race and then slow down to a resting rhythm. Other women do not notice this symptom at all. Some women only find out that they have this symptom when their hearts are observed for other purposes. Usually it is when the doctor is listening to the woman's heart during a routine exam that he notices the change. If you are of a certain age, this could be a symptom of menopause.
One of the most famous symptoms of menopause is irritability. Do you remember the beginnings of puberty when, without warning, just about everything seemed to be annoying as all get out? This is pretty much the same thing that a woman who is starting to go through menopause feels. It isn't always PMS when a woman who is normally pretty easy going starts acting like everything is annoying and irritating--especially if she is of a certain age. It could be that she has started to go through menopause.
Menopause is not something that anybody particularly enjoys. Even if you are not going through the change yourself, if someone you love is going through it, you are affected as well.
