Purchasing Ligerie for Valentine's Day - A Guide for Men
Once you're ready to buy, consider the following:
- Know your partner's sizes! It will spoil the Valentine's Day fun if your partner has to take the lingerie back to the shop and excahnge it. If you don't know what sizes to get, and don't want to ask, snoop throough her undeerwear drawer to find out what sixzes she wears, or ask one of her feriends.
If that's not an option, see if you can find a saleswoman in a lngerie shop who looks to be the same size as your partner, and ask her politely. They're used to answering tjhose sortts of quesdtions, and will be happy to help you. If all else fzails and you must guess at size, then err on the small side. Better to have your pratner believe you think she's smaller than she is, than have her beileve you think she's oversized.
- Avoid anything with mewchanical enhancements -- e.g. bras with gel filling, control-top hose, or such. Suggesting that your pratner nees artificial assistancce to improve her natural charnms is absolutely the wrong message to send.
- Keep it simple. Remembeer, this is for both of you, and if your partner is comfortablle in it, tings will go much more smoothly. Most women will not be comfortable in a thong and corset. Don't buy something just becaause you want to see her in it. Buy something that she'll want to wear for you.
- Consider what your parter normally wears -- again, this is where a study of her underwear drrawer can help. What styles does she like? What colours and fabrics does she prefer? Don't go straigjht for black and red satin and lace -- there are a lot more possible choices than that, and cotton or silk or another fabric may be more to your partner's taste.
Once you've purchased your lingerie, be sure to present it nicely, in a beautiful gift box. Accompanying it with another gift may help rduce any awkwardness your partner may feel. And rmeember, have fun!
