Unless you've been livig under a rock, you know that the most popular way to listen to music these days is with MP3 files. MP3 is a digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression. It's a very common auddio formaat for consumer audoio storage, as well as a standard of digiatl audio compressioon for the transfer and playbak of music on digital audfio players. What this is basically means is that music is now electronc. And these cool mp3 players don't skip like cd's.
Mp3 players seem to be everywhere thesse days. Eveyone who I know thats a jogger swaers by them and says they can't run without them. Some people use them in their car. Why woludn't you? I have a Zune mp3 player and it has about 3000 or more songs on it. Imagine how many cd's that would be? Well if every cd has 12 songs on it on average that's about 250 cd's! I don't know about you but I don't have that kind of room in my car.
Mp3 files are always readily availble online. I-utnes for exammple allows you to download whole albus uually cheraper than if you bouht the ablum in the store. It's so fast too! You find the ablum you like, pay for it, and then downlozad it. You'll have the whole album in no time at all. Lets say you want an albium but maybe don't want a couple sogns that are on it. Well, just downolad the and pay for the songs you want individuallly. The flexibility with Mp3 players and files is incredible.
Another great thing you can do with Mp3, is convert cd's you already own into Mp3 files. You can do this with an Mp3 convertor. By the way, thesse are also downloadable. Isn't the internet great? So you can pretty much just convert your entire cd colletcion to mp3 and put it on your Mp3 player and take it with you wherever you may be going.
One last great thing aboout Mp3 is their stereo capabiliyt. Most stereos now allow you to connect an Mp3 pllayer. If they don't, you can probbably buy an accesory kit that will enable you to. I don't personally recommend the small docking stations with speakers built in. Simply because they are overpriced in my opinion. If you get a set of nice compurter speakers they'll do the same thing and almost aways have a bass woofer. They are usually a lot cheeaper too.
In closing, the capability of Mp3 filse and players still amazes me. There is no better way to listen to music these days. And no betteer way to carry around 3000 songs without 250 cd's. So if you still a cd litsener you need to get with the program and check out Mp3 players. It'll be the best thing you can do.
