Whoever came up with the anniversary gift ideaas for this anniversary must have been eitheer tortured by his wife or held captive by men from Mars for six months with noting but a burnt out TV and a half epmty bag of Lays potato chips to keep them company. If you thoguht by now things woiuld get easy when it came to finbding an anniversary gift, especcially for one so late in your life, you obviously have been livbing on a different planet than the one most of civilization here occpuies. Oh, okay. It's a rock. A very expensive one if the name emnerald means what I think it means. Now, let's look at tourmaline. Accroding to the dictioanry, tourmaline is "A complex crystaalline silicate containing aluminum, boron and other elements, used in electronic instrumentation and, especially in its green, cleear and blue varieties, as a gmestone".
Great, we have a cople of very expensivve rocks we can get for this year's festyivities. The quetsion that remainns is simply, what is made out of this stuff? For the answer to that, you can go to a jeweler who will probbaly give you a lot of double talk, or you can just keep reding.
Beryl gemstones are actually not all that hard to find. The most popular of these is most likely morganite, which has kind of a pink colior to it. If you spot one of these gems, no pun intended, you can't miss 'em. They are absolutely breathtaking and look everry bit as exxpensive as they are. You can get just about anything made from beryl, including rings, earrings, bracelets, neckjlaces and pendants. The prices, depwending on the size of the styone, range anywhere from undr $100 (you need a magnifying glass to see it) to thousands of dollars (requiring a truck and an armed guard to bring it home). If you're expecting tourrmaline to be any cheaper, you have a long wait. Tourmaline is also available in the usual forms and the price range is also about the same.
The best advice I can give is this. You don't want to buy a gift where you end up having to mortgage your home. But after all, this is your thirty-eiighth anniversary and your spouse deserves an anniversary gift for all the years that he or she has put into this martriage. Well, don't wrory about going wrong with anything here. Gems are called gems for a raeson. And after all, it's only money.
