The flea life cycle is fairly complex and understanding the diverse stages will help you in your struggle to get free of them.

Diagrams and videos can be found here at http://cheapk9advantix.net/9/flea_life_cycle.html

There are four main stages: eggs, larva, pupa and adult. The flea life cycle can stretch anywhere from a few weeks to many months, it all just is dependent on your environment and living setting.

EGG STAGE: They are not sticky and usually drop into the flooring, bedcovers, grass and floorboards. When the egg will hatch varies from two days to a few weeks.

LARVA: This flea life cycle period has 3 developmental intervals inside this phase. Most larvae are about 1/4" long and the total period cycle lasts roughly 5 - 18 days. Following this occasion the larva spins a silky-smooth cocoon and pupates.

to find out 7 steps to a flea free home.

PUPA: The pupa is the ending period prior to adult. The flea can emerge from their cocoon in as little as 3-6 days or it can stay in its cocoon for over a year, waiting for the perfect time to emerge.

ADULT: The adult flea is very flat side to side. The adult female flea can lay up to 50 eggs per day. That is 500-600 eggs over numerous months! The total life cycle is quite flexible, as evidenced by the changeability in each life period development. As talked about above, the flea life cycle can be as tiny as two weeks or as long as two years. That is why it is so essential to remain wary, even when a flea dilemma is thought to be under control!
