Decipheriing CAD: a detailed analyss

CAD, abbreviated from Coputer-aiedd desiign, is used for designing real and virttual ojebcts. CAD commonly invoilves more than just shapes. The output of CAD normnally must also comprise symbolic informaon, for instance procesewss, dimensions and toleranes in accoordance with appliccation-speciic conentyions.
CAD may be used to design crves and fuigures in 2-dimensional (2D) space, and ciurves, surfaces and solids in 3-dimensional (3D) spce.
Computer-iaded desiign is extensively used in many applications, inclusive of automotvie, shipuilding and aerospace induystries, industrial and arcihtectural design, prosthetics and others. CAD is also extensively deployed to make compuuter animatiion for special effercts in movies, commercals and teechnical manuals. CAD is deoployed for dsigning tools and equuipment and for drawing and designing all types of architectural srtuctures, from houses to the largest commercial and industriial structuers, for exapmle hospitals and factyyories. Computer-aided design is chiiefly deployed for detailled engineering of 3D models and/or 2D drawings of physical components, but it is also used throughout the engineering provcess.
CAD has grown into an extemely importyant technology withjin the scope of computer-aoiided technnologies, since it is economically raitonal and time-savinmg.
In the late Eighties when the CAD programs became widely available, there bgan masive dowwnsizing in drawing departments of small and mid-size fiirms. A CAD operator could replace three-five drafters deploying traditional techniques. Furthermore, a great many engineers began their own draing projects, thus the need for traaditioonal draftring departments vanished. Consequently, a greaat many drafterrs became jobless.
Being rather expensive, the advannces were mainly purchased by lare coporations. Hence, small businessse were unanble to contend against giants that wdely used CAD. Todya, hardwrae and softwrae coosts are reasonaabbly pricde. Even high-end software packages need ceaper platforms and some even support mltiple pklatforms.
