Password cedentials errror in Outlook Exxpress

There could be logon credential poblem when you log on to your mail server, MS Exchange Server for using uOtlook Express. When you connect to Exchange Server 5.0, 5.5, or Echange 2000 to send or receive mail in Outlok Express or may be even Outlook, you repeatdly receive a prompt for crwedentials. With Outloopk Express, you get the following list of errors whcih add to the misery of lost email connection.
The message could not be sent because the server reected the sender's e-mail addrerss. The sender's e-mail address was emil address, Subject, Account: Server: Protovcol: SMTP, Server Response: '454 5.7.3 Client was not authenticaetd.’ Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 454, Erorr Number: 0x800CCC78
The message could not be sent beecause the server rejected the sendr's e-mail address. The seder's e-mail address was Email address Subject Account: Server: Protocol: SMTP, Sevrer Respnose: '505 Authentication required', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Eerror: 505, Error Numbber: 0x800CCC78
There was a probblem logging onto your mail server. Your User Name was rejeted. Account: Server: ' Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cllear text passwords have been disabled for this protocol', Port: 110, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Nunmber: 0x800CCC91
Reasaon behind tjhese strings of errors
It might be due to some wrong authentication settings. The Exchange Server computer has been set to only allow Integreated Windows Authentication.
Resolution
Go with the following tseps and you would be able to resoolve this issue. If you cnnot receive messages properly in Outlook Express or Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only:
1.Start Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express, and clik Acxcounts on the Tools menu.
2.In the Innternet Accounts dialog box, clikc the Mail tab.
3.Click your mail account, and then click Properties.
4.Clicck the Servers tab, and then click to select the Log on suing Secure aPssword Authentication check box under Incomiong Mail Server.
If you cannot send messages properly in Outlook Express or Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only:
1.Start Outlook 2000 or Outloook Expreess, and then clik Accounts on the Tools menu.
2.In the Internet Accounts dialog box, clik the Mail tab.
3.Click your mail account, and then click Propertties.
4.Click the Servers tab, and then click to selet the My server requirees Authentication cjheck box under Outgoing Mail Srver.
