My free traffic is already warmed up for a sale, if that is what I am wanting from the first contact .
For the new traffic to be "warmed" , you must learn the difference in selling and pre-selling . Selling to complete strangers is a big turn off. In the world of online, turn off equals click off.
Those that click off before they get to the resource box will never be your customer .
Effective article marketing starts with a mindset of offering quality information without the intent to sell. Website traffic generation begins at the point of your link getting clicked .
Now while most can't get desperation cleared from their minds , they need to understand desperation can be sensed in your articles and website content .
Most people will realize when you are trying to sell them something . It is better to write an informative article and send them to a landing page with information interesting enough to make the visitor want t look around your site and find more great information.
Put yourself in your visitors shoes . Would you want to go straight from an article to a sales page or go from an article to another informative piece of content .
As far as my visitors are concerned , they feel as if I have provided them with quality information on something they were interested in. They realize I am an authority, simply because I have enlightened them beyond what they knew before landing on my site .
Now I know most who use article marketing are affiliate marketers who want to generate website traffic to make sales .
What they do not understand is their hard sell tactics is the reason that they are showing a ten second bounce rate when they view their site statistics .
Learning to stop selling was the point that made my sales increase .
A very successful marketer told me to stop selling years ago. I didn't listen at first and was not very happy with the ensuing results . Finally I decided to give it try, what did I have to lose ?
In the first week I would like to tell you my sales doubled .
In reality , I had no sales to double . I did make eleven sales that first week. I never tried the hard sale again from that point on .
