101 marketing strategies can be found in the craziest places .

This latest lesson arrived in the form of an invitation from Marlboro. I was cordially invited to come to the Atlanta Motor Speedway , bring a friend, and take hot laps with a professional driver .

Being a huge Nascar fan, I was elated with the offer . Being a long time internet marketer I was also scanning the fine print for the catch I knew had to be there .

When the day finally arrived to go to the track, the need fir speed, hell on wheels, if only in my own mind, stunt driver couldn't wait to get there . The well grounded, been there and have the tee-shirt, marketer reminded me to fill my pockets with cash .

After all, nothing is really free these days!

101 marketing strategies would dictate I take someone with me that could further my business. I decided to take my wife .

This actually was a great decision. The more you and your partner agree on concerning the online business, the better things will run in general. Sometimes it is important to build on the relationship. This is coming from a man that has been married to the same woman for twenty plus years and a man who has the complete support of his wife in their online business.

The wife and I drive through the gate , park the car, and are greeted by a gentlemen that points us in the direction we need to be in.

We are fitted for our drivers uniform, given driving gloves and a helmet and pose for a picture beside the race car .

We then get to actually get in a race car and do actual laps around the track at somewhere around one hundred and sixty miles an hour .

Then we are shuffled to another track that is set up for drafting . For those that don't know , this is going around a track spinning your tires and on the edge of crashing .

This was not an advertised part of the package. It was at least as good as the laps around the track.

We then were escorted to a dining hall and feed a meal fit for a king .

After all of this there was still no catch whatsoever.

So what does this have to do with 101 marketing strategies?

Well the first thing to come to mind would be the fact that they offered something of very high quality (suggested retail price of $1100 per person)for free and it really was free.

How many times have you given your email address for something that was either a let down on the promises made, or was not as free as the producer eluded to?

To be respected in the real world you have to do what you say . This is just as true for online but most seem to find comfort in the anonymity of the internet, forgetting they are dealing with real people .

We were given something else of value that was not advertised . This in it's self is very smart for business.

I see a lot of marketers who just can't seem to help but brag about the unadvertised bonus in the download area . First of all it just got advertised . Secondly , if the person is not expecting anything and receive something , they are a real happy camper .

I was so happy with all that was presented , I was actually trying to tip people . They couldn't except but the point I am trying to make is simply this . I went as a skeptic, determined not to give them any of my money .

The way they presented themselves I was offering money when they were not asking .

Use this lesson from the Marlboro man and watch your clients, customers, and list members start offering to pay you money .... maybe even money you are not asking for .

The best 101 marketing strategies are based on giving more to your customer than what they expect .
