Part II
There are different aproaches to subject lines, but most often marketers try to include a good benefit in the subject. Be sure you don't make it overly complicated, simple and direct will do much better. At the very least, your email will not be deleted because you have annoyed your reader with a short story for a subject line. Think of your subject line as the headline for your email, and its job is make the reader want to read more. Of course this naturally means your open rate will be better. Try to be consistent and remain with a single message in your promotional emails. Trying to cover more than one topic is not a proven way to do this, and you don't really have enough space to do it well. The more information you have in your email, the higher will be the chances of your subscriber just deleting it.
The best approach is focus on one topic, then put the main benefit in your subject line, and then say it upfront in your opening paragraph. When you do this, you'll be conditioning your readers and it will be remembered when future emails arrive. But keep in mind what we've covered so far concerns promotional emails, and not the full content ezine or newsletter type mailings. But don't overdo it with ezine/newsletter emails, either, keep them focused on several related topics, etc.
Click through rates are also a very important part of successful email marketing. Many marketing emails today are so full of banners, text and graphics that it's hard for the reader to focus on your links. When this happens, your click through rate suffers and you will have fewer visitors and customers. Research says that the majority of the people surfing the Internet have come to identify a link better when it's bold and blue in color, when compared to a graphic such as a banner. You want your links to stand out so they are clicked on, so make sure to underline them and make them bold and blue. Your busy readers have to be able to instantly know where your link is if you want them to click on it.
You will also greatly benefit from using an autoresponder email management service.
Seriously - you do not want to attempt this at home (manually) because it will consume all of your time. What you'll do is pre-write your marketing emails, and then the service will email them for you. Whenever a subscriber joins your list, your autoresponder can reply back with a thank you email. Lots of marketers just send content in their emails, and of course other things such as courses, etc. If you know how to approach email marketing and communicating with your list, then you'll see positive results from your email campaigns.
