Part II
It's important to avoid spam filters when you send out emails for marketing purposes. Spam filters are set up by email service providers to filter out "junk mail" and stop it from getting through to customers' inboxes. These spam filters work according to a points system, where each email is evaluated as spam or "good" mail. Emails that are given a high number of points according to this system are rejected as spam. You have to make sure that you're not using any trigger words such as "free", "make money", "wealth", etc. in your email body or subject line. Spam filters often prevent people from receiving perfectly honest emails, even ones they've asked for. In each email, just keep your focus on a topic, or theme, in each one and be consistent. Trying to cover more than one topic is not a proven way to do this, and you don't really have enough space to do it well. The more information you have in your email, the higher will be the chances of your subscriber just deleting it.
You'll want to stay on topic, and always mention the primary benefit in your opening and subject line. When you do this, you'll be conditioning your readers and it will be remembered when future emails arrive. So, just remember that we're talking about promotional mailings for an offer and not full-content newsletter or ezine emails. But don't overdo it with ezine/newsletter emails, either, keep them focused on several related topics, etc.
This is a protective measure in case the marketer is ever accused of spamming the subscriber. Verification and confirmation of the subscribers intent is provided to the marketer. It's also quite common to see people who do sign-up to your list, but then for whatever reason they end-up not confirming it.
You will also not want to do this manually, so do sign-up for an autoresponder service to manage everything.
Your email content must be considered useful and relevant to your readers. Thunderbird and Outlook have preview panes, so they'll be able to get a quick glance if they want. You'll be using all the leverage that is there for you by doing this. Right from the subject line to the starting paragraph, all of it matters.
