Part II
It's important to avoid spam filters when you send out emails for marketing purposes. Email service providers and ISPs (internet service providers) use these spam filters to prevent commercial emails from reaching the inboxes of their customers. Spam filters work in a certain way and give points to each email received, using different techniques. Depending on the particular provider or how the customer has set up his account, emails that get a high number of spam points are sent to the spam folder or deleted outright. Spam filters are triggered by certain words, whether in the subject line or body of the email, which include "wealth," "free" or "making money," so avoid using these. Many times a legitimate email falls into the spam trap and never reaches the recipient. You must be as consistent as possible in your email marketing struggles, as that's very crucial. People should be able to look at your newsletter or ezine and instantly know it's you. When everything is similar, people will recognize you and you'll begin to form a relationship with them. On the long run, this strategy can do wonders for your business because your subscribers will start to trust you. What that shows is that you really care that you're there to help them, and that will generate loads more sales and a greater business.
The best approach is focus on one topic, then put the main benefit in your subject line, and then say it upfront in your opening paragraph. When you do this, you'll be conditioning your readers and it will be remembered when future emails arrive. But these tips we've covered, so far, are for promo emails and not a content newsletter type email. But even with a newsletter you should keep it to the point and make it easy to digest the information.
Click through rates are also a very important part of successful email marketing. If your emails are too crowded with distractions such as graphics, banners or even lots of text, your subscribers may not notice the links you want them to click on. When this happens, your click through rate suffers and you will have fewer visitors and customers. The best technique to get people to notice your link is to use the color blue and make it bold. So if you want to include links in your email, you have to try to keep them blue and underlined. If you want people to click on your links and visit your site, they have to be able to easily recognize your links.
Every email you send needs to have a call-to-action in it, and it doesn't really matter what it is - it can be just to be on the look-out for your next email. You should clearly tell the subscribers what you want them to do. If your email contains promo links, then tell them to click on it now. Also don't be shy about telling them to do it in more than one place in your email copy. You will, though, want to avoid annoying your reader with too many calls to action, probably no more than three times. If you need to include instructions, then do it because if you don't it will decrease conversions. You do not ever want to make the assumption that people will figure stuff out on their very own. You really do need to be clear about what you want them to do, and then include benefits as well.
Seriously - you do not want to attempt this at home (manually) because it will consume all of your time. What you'll do is pre-write your marketing emails, and then the service will email them for you. And after anyone opts in to your list, then you can automatically send them a nice little thank you email. You really are not limited as to what you use your autoresponder for - from short courses, good content, tips, etc. You can see a lot of success with email marketing, but you really need to get educated as much as possible.
