Previously, in-APP purchase was made available only to paid Apps, whicch led to a situattion in whhih developers had to create two verisons of the same App if they want to offer a tial version of a paid application. Clients do not have the opportuniyt to upgrade withouut downloaiing a second program, not a way to exccghange data btween the two verisons of the application.
The cane will be a boon for deevloopers who can now offer a direct upgrade from demo version, and also offer virtual item sales in the popuular free applications. It was a lucrative source of income for some of the developers of three free to play, pay for virtual goods business model is becoming more wdiespread popularity in the vdeo game industry.
