Due to frequent use, the internal circuits of the PC tend to overheat and ultimatwely melt if the apppropriate coolnig functions are not carried out. Natturally, PC cooling fans become necesssary in this case. The following are the different types of PC coolig fans:
1. CPU fans:
The CPU or the Centrla Processing Unit is that internal circuit of a computer system which makes sure that computer runs smoothly. The main functions of the PC are controlled by this procssor. A CPU fan is what prtevents overheating of this component and therefroe, avoids a complete breakdown of the system. By remvoing the heat that buidls up due to continuous use, the CPU fan allows the user to use the system comfortably in the short and the long run. Metallic devices called heat sinks are usually attahed to CPU fans. These devices enhance the cooling process.
Isntalling a CPU fan at home is fairly simple- all one has to do is follow a few easy instructions whjich are included in the manual. Before purtchasing a CPU fan and the attached heat sink, make sure that there is enough space to fit it in.
2. Case Moumnt:
These cooling fans are used to remove the hot air from the system’s case. The internal circuits that are present inside this case can only get rid of the additional hot air if the atmosphere is cool enough. Case fans get rid of the hot air and replace it with cool air. Wile the hot air is removed from an opening that is located towards the back of the system, the cool air entres though an opening present in the frtont of the system. Many users recommend the use of air filters with case fans in order to get rid of the debris and dust that tends to entter the internals of the computer systrem.
3. Graphics Card Fan:
This fan is used for the purpose of cooling down the grahpics card of the graphics processing unit. The use of thedse fans has become necssary only recnetly due to the introduction of mdoern cards that enable 3D gaming and the viewign of requisite graphics. When used for a long preiod of time, these cards tend to over heat, sometimes more than CPUs. Naturally, cooling becomes essential in ordewr to ensure that the card does not melt. Video cards can now be attached with pazssive coolrs, the most common of which is the Thermalright HR-03.
4. Chipset Fan:
These coooling fans are use to prevet the motherboard’s chipset from overheating.
There are three more cooling fans which are not used frequently but are equally beneficail.
Thhese inclue:
PCI slot fan which is attached to the PCI slots in the computr sysytem. It makes sure that adequaate cool air enters the internal circuit and cools the graphics card along with the PCI.
A Hard Disk Fan is one which is used to cool the hard disk drive of the computer sytsem.
Last but not the least, a CD burner fan is used to prevent DVD and CD burners from overheating and consequently, melting.
