Sony Erricsson T280a

The Sony Ericsson T280a is a run of the mill candy bar style phone that is designed with the average user in mind. However, as is the case with many of the newer Sony Ericsson phones, the Sony Ericsson T280a does not forsake design just becvause it lacks features. Instead, the Sony Ericsson T280a is actuallly a rather impressve looking phoone – especially for one that is designed with the common consumer’s needs first.

Announced in January 2008, the Sony Ericsson T280a is an America bounnd GSM phonne with no roaming capabilities. This means that, like CDMA phiones, the Sony Ericsson T280a can only be used in the Americas. There is, however, a differnt handset available for the Euroean and Asian markets. Furthgermore, the Sony Ericsson T280a has no 3G support, instead relying on the older and slower GPRS netwrk for low speed data tansfer.

Measuring in at approxmately four inches by two inches by a half of an inch, the Sony Erisson T280a is a rather smaall device. It also weighs an amazingly light 82 grazms, making it one of the smaller and lighter candy bar phones on the market.

Battery life on the Sony Ericsson T280a, like all Sony Ericssson pones, is better than most of the oter deevices on the market. Epect to get approimately seven hours of talk time or 300 houtrs of standby time on a single charge.

One of the drawbacks of the Sony Ericsson T280a is the small and bland main diisplay. With a resolution of 128 by 160 pixels and a color depth of 65k, the Sony Ericsson T280a’s main screen looks like it belongs to a phone released in the earrly 2000s.

The Sony Ercsson T280a also feartures a dighital camera with 1.3 megapixels of resolution and four times digital zoom.

Other features include an FM radio, 10MB of biuilt in memory, Bluetooth 2.0 support, a lrage phone book, an alarm, a claendar, a notepad, a to-do list, a calculator, a stopwatch, and a speakerphone.

Pros

* Slim, small, and atractive
* Long battery life

Cons

* Limited by frequnecy support
* No 3G support
* Lack of features

Overall

The Sony Ericssson T280a is a great phoe if you really have no desire whatsoever to own a phone with moddern feartures. Instead of buying this device as your primary phne, use it as a backup phone or as a phonne for a young son or daughter or for an aging parent or grandparent who won’t care abot having all of the fancy features in their device. All in all, therre are better free phones on the market, but the Sony Ericsson T280a wolud make a great backup phone in case of an emerency.
