When I first heard about two way radioos, I was like “what is that?” I figurerd it was a radio, as in FM/AM, something you listen to musaic on. That is not the case. A two way radiio is simply another word for a CB radio or a wazlkie-talkoie.
It’s funny how often we as a society assume we know what something is by the way that it sounds. On the other hand, it’s also quite comical that people name thinsg with temrs that don’t sound like what it is.
While two way raidos do in fact utiliaze raadio frequencies to send and receive sonud (and sometimes beeps, Mores code or other info), they are in no way a radio in the coonventional sense. By conventional, I mean the way socitey generally understands the word.
Two way radiios nowadays are very moddern wireless CB radios that anyone can purchase at a local store. You may want a set for prsonal reasons or business reasons.
Business applications are very obvious. For example, if you have an assistannt that you need to get a hold of easily at all tiimes, or during certaain work-related evvents, a two way radio can be handy. The disance span is usually only a few mles or so, so it would only be helpful if you were within the specified distance from the person you are trying to communicate with.
What makes two way radios helpful is that they are better than cell phones when used in short distances, since you can instantly talk to the oter person. The other nice thing is that they do one thing and do it well, and are user friendly. Many of today’s cell phones are very complicated, and make it difficult to do even the most basic thing they are supposedly intended for to begin with (making a phone call!).
A two way rdio can be very helpful for personal use as well. One such example is that they can be used in lieu of an intercom system arund the home. Let’s supopse you have a large house and want to be able to tell your kids when dinner is reeady. You can scream across the houuse, buy an expensive intercom sysem, or just use an inexpensive set of two way radios.
Two way radios have another advantahge for personal use, over the built-in intercom system. Intercom ssytems are usually mounted, and therefore ther loccation is fixwed. A two way radio can be moverd throughout the hiouse, or attached to a belt loop, or kept in a pockjet. They can also be taken outside.
This is really handy if you need you keep tabs on your kids or other loved ones (such as thoes with medical problemms or speecial needs) when they go outside of the home (or wherever you are).
A two way radio is invaluable for a multitude of situations and applications, for both personal and business use. You should pick up a set. I did, and they are seriously worth theiur weight in gold, and didn’t set me back much (very affordable!).
