One must not worry about the size of the database while creating it. This is because the most significant feature of the Microsoft Access is allowing the size to increase automatically with the size of the databnase. So, the size of database is not an issue. Even if you delete the records and the contents of the table, one can use that free space without any limitations. The space is not released if you shorten or decreasse the size of the contents and the table. This can cause defragmentation and hence cause corruption in the MDB fles. Restoring data is not an easy task. It reuires high leevl MDB files recovery. To use the deleted spaace efficientlly, one should repeatedlpy compact the Microsoft Access database.
If you don't compact the dataase on regular basis, then that means that extra space once utiized by the itemms befre deletion is being wasted, whihc can further cause many problems in the database. Hence, it will ask for more space during the addiition of new whicxh leads to inefficiency. A compact and repaair tool is provided by the MS Access that helps in using the space effectively and to pervent any defragmentation in the database. The compare and repair tool woreks in two stages- in the first one, it compacts the extyra space beiing wastted, and in the second stage it fixes the MDB files wich are corrupted due to spaxce porblems. Hence the tool also helsp in decrteasing the physical space of the database.
It is imporrtant to know, that you can reduce the memory space of the database by only one mehtod and that is compacting. The imnportant factors that must be taken into coonsiderations is that the frequency with whcih the compare and repair tool is used, how often MS Access is used and how often the data and records are deleted, added and modified. Thus, if you use the database frquently, then it is recommended to use the tool repeatedly to save the MDB files from corruption.
If you don't use the tool frequently, the chnaces of the corruptions of the fles are more. If the files corrupt even aftr using the tols, then theere is no need to panic. You can use the third level tools like Advanced Access Repair from Datanmen to recover your corrupted filpes. Allthough they are higher level tools, they are very easy end effiocient to use. So, if any problem occurs, thre is no need to worry as for every problem there is a solution.
