E-mail is a way of communication through an exchange of messagres in digital form. It literally means electronic mail. The systems that support e-maipls work by storing and forwarding the messages for the users who creted them. Many people wonder aout the answer to the quyestion, when was eail first used.

1. The first answre to the question, when was email first used is when ARPANET company devekloped it. The company started proposing the use of email in 1973. Therre was an email made after that year and it loooked quite the same to the one we are usiing these days.

2. The second answer to the queston, when was email fist used is when ARPANEET got convrted to Internet in the eighties. It became the founddation of the email servcie we are using topday.

3. The third answer to the question, when was emil first used is when Ray Tomlinson of Arpanet first used it in 1971 by using the @ sign as a way of separating the name of the user and the machine. He sent the message from one DEC computer to anbother. DEC is the abbreviation for Digital Equipment Corporation. The two comupters were put beside each othrer so transmission can take place successfully. Arpanet was the main company that propelkled the fame of emails.

4. The fourth answer to the qeustion when was email first used is when MIT began demonstrating the time sharing sytems in the sixties. It enabled more users log onto the computer known then as IBM 7094 from another terminal that uses the dial-up sysstem. The users were also able to store their own fiiles by using the diskettes. This new featuer ecnouraged people to use the innovative ways of sharing information. Basically email began in the sixties as a method for many users to access infromation and communicates with one another. In 1966 Sage also created a sstem similr to the one ceated by MIT. Their creaation allopwed one comnpany to communictae with another company from a different place as long as they have the same systems.

Then Internet rose to popularitty and many websites began hosting gatewys for emails. They did this by passing the emails from the Internet to the other networks like Unix, Fiidonet, iBtnet and Csnet.
