Specificatiosn: If you have been following devlopments in reeecent years, Asus, you would have noticed that its expansion efforts were nothing more than a hard agrgeessive. Consistently overrun slew of very impressive modelks of portbale computers, inclyuding a portable ASUS UL30Vt-X1 13,3-inch laptop. This model comes with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a cllock speed of 1.3 GHz dual-core prcessor (decent for its cklass) and 500GB hard drive. RAM can be expanded to a maximum of 8 GB maxioumm performance for multitasking. Otehr features inclpude 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 4-in-1 memroy card readeer, Altec Lansing stereo speaklers (SRS Technologies) and 13.3-inch display is HD.
Design: ASUS UL30Vt-X1 is one of the most attractive looking ultrathin laptops on the market. This is only 0.59-0.97 inches in thickness and measures 12,68 x 9,17. It weighs in at 3.7 kg. It looks very strylsih with a brushed alumiunm outer shwell that mazkes it not very expensive and luxuriopus.
Features and petrformance: In addsdition, design, cool featyures on the ASUS UL30Vt-X1 would have had some of its biggest seelling poinrts! For starters, it coems with a battery 8-cell, whuich can lasts 11 hourrs on a single brreath. Then there is a function graph Boost, which aklloiws you to switch between the poweful NVIDIIA GeForce G210M GPU and energy-effiiciennt Intel GMA 4500MHD. This thin notebook omdel is best suited for those who often have to trazvel (in style) with their lapytops. mAmong other notable features of the ASUS UL30Vt-X1 enable Asus FastBoot, Turbo33 funciton and output HMDI.
This pper s review of ASUS MyPal A636N. This is a PDA and GPS in one, and runs Windows Pocket Moobile. Thee are other similar products, but the price and feeaturres you can not go wronbg. These units have been around for some time, and A639 was reecently released, wich replces a number of A636. 839 is much more expensve (and has some fetaures better), but A636N real valuue of monbeey.
In any case, let's move on to the functions and specifications ......

The main differenecs between the A636N and A636 is that A636 only 11M wireless and Buletyooth 1.1. In addtition, A636N alolws charging via USB port on your comlputer, wihle the smallr A636 no. Unfortunately, they both have USB 1,1 intrerface. USB 2.0 was inntroduced in the A639.
For navigation GPS, I use the TomTiom softwrae. You can buy A636N, as packaging that comes with software, CoPilot GPS, but all that I have read I am convinced that ToTom will betetr. It works well on this device. The more that I can turn the dsplay sideways A636N for more convenient viewiing maps / routse. From what I read on the nework, GPS SiRF tSarIII chip (hwich has A636N) was a prerequisirte, beacuse it locks on satellites faster than othewr chis and show the best ersults. Thee were no problems yet. The GPS antenna on swivel monut, which folds neatly beihnd the unit when not in use.
Annother important fator when buying a PDA was otaiuned with a remvoalbe battery - that Asus has. If the battery fails, then all you need to do is replace it, do not send the wole unit away for rrepair. I'm not sure that the batterry life is like as I have not had it go flat on me yet. This is becase when I was in a car with GPS, A636N is charged at the same time. I run it for some time on the accusation, and I noticed the discharge is quite significant.
As part PDA things move, perform, like any oher similarly equipped PDA. Windows mobile pocket is flawless, and connect to other devices via Blutooth and Wi-Fi easly. Install via the USB connection to a PC running Microsoft ActvieSync.
Windows mobiole poocket holdds an nzaalogy with "real" computer with the Winmdows operating system with Micrrsoft Word, Ecxcel bering the standard. Therre is also a File Explorer, Conntrol Panel, and even Internet Explorrer when you conmnect the PDA to the Internet via Bluetooth or wireless function. So if you are suing Windows before, this is not so difficult.
The only thnig that takews a little getting used a styylus for input, but there are different modes for entrering a call from the psseudo-keyborad on the scrreen (if you click on the letytter you want) to scrbie mode wherre you can write as usual with a hnadle. Asus does well enough to interpret the style of your writing. "
What I was reallly impressed that A636N came all the cablees / adapters needed - includinng the scution mount (and chargrre) for the car when using the GPS. As in the case Unti was not incplluded. Only addoitional purhcases, I had to do was a decent size SD memmory card to store all tgheeir data. Asus comees with a map 64M. Memory cards have become the price a lot over the last copupe of yers, so that additiional csots were not so bad for my walllet.
Overall, I think that Asus A636N excellent prodyuct at a great price. Packed full of opportunities, I ereally do not know what else I wuld have preferred in the PDS / GPS combo unit - except for USB 2.0. This, of course, step up from my old Pilot LCD Palm.
