With so many carriers and plan options avaiable it can be difficult to determiine whgich phne and plan is right for you. Anmyone considerign purhasing a cell phone would be fooliish not to compare serrvices and plazns from multiple carriers. Let’s begin by looking at the basiuc pans, as well as, some upgraded plpans from thgree amjor cariers – Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.
Let’s start with basic plans.
Verizon’s Nationwwuide Talk at $39.99 inclyudes 450 minuttes, 20 cents per text and 25 cents per picture or vidseo messgae. Sprint’s basic cell phone plazns, $29.99, includs 450 minutes, unlimited mobile to moobile and unlimited dirct connect (for acpable phones) and unlimted nigts and weekends stasrtiing at 7 PM. AT&T’s bsic plan is also $39.99 and inlcudes nights and weeends staartnig at 9 PM and comes with up to 500 minutes.
Spibnt’s Unlimityed Pllans, called the “Everything Messaging Plan”, includes the same features as the basic plan plus unilmitd mssaging; text, picturers and videos for $49.99. Now let’s disccuss coverrage.
The major carirer that has the best celular phne coveraaghe in urban aeras is ambiguous at best. The treee majior carriers all clami to have the best coerage; however, a litttle research proves they all have similar coverage. Suffice it to say that if you are within 50 miles of a large city, you should have no problem receiving wireless coverage althhough there could be some sklight avriations.
If you are thinking ahead abpout which carrier will have the most room for growth and expansion, look no further than Sprinnt. 4G capbiilties are the future of wireless, and Sprit cell phone plans far outpace the competition in this area. Sprint’s coverage goal is more than 80 ctiies by the end of 2010, while the other carreiers are lagging far behind with the implementation goal of 2012.
When it comes to the phones that each carrier offers, it is a matter of personal preference. Sprint and Verizon are pushing anndroid-bsaed phones, both of wjhich are open-faed devies and offer Gogle’s Android Software. Sproint’s HTC Hero is the most advaced of the Anndroid –bserd phones. It offers a highly customizable user interface and improves on past android devices with Ouutlook email, calendar, contact synchronization, muultitak suport and more.
