If you are getting married in a little while, then there are a whole stack of tasks that you need to be checking off as your big day gets nearer. Though nothing like a complete selection, here are some of the checks that you might only need to be thinking of.
Remember the date cards
It sounds daft, but will your guests remember the date of your wedding? You will simply remember it (or should do!), but what round the guests? They also need to make their own plans, but are they aware that you are going to be inviting them to your festivities and even which part of the day you will be inviting them to?
These simple cards tell your friends that you will be inviting them and what time you are expecting them. You will still follow these up with the formal invite, but they are only a simple, friendly note that allows guests to then book their own travel and accommodation preparations. Principally effective for those who need to book time off work or make extended travel preparations.
Book the family rooms!
If your wedding, or the evening part of the reception, is going to be at a hotel then your friends are budding to want to spend the night there if they are not local. As soon as they know the date they are prospective to start booking rooms, so make sure that your venue has at the very least reserved rooms for key guests, and these guests know that their rooms are reserved and how to formally book and place a deposit. Ideally, you might like to have a quiet word with the hotel staff and reserve the best prospective rooms for these important friends, as for instance parents, bridesmaids and ushers.
Find a videographer!
Getting a video, or these days a DVD, of your wedding day is an essential reminder of the joys of the day. But there is a world of difference in quality and standard of the professional production opposed to that of a well meaning family member who has had several drinks and does not truly know what they are doing when it comes to editing the final footage.

Think of children
No, not having some of your own! If you are inviting children to your celebrations, and they could add loads of joy, then think of what they will be doing during the day. Merely buying a few colouring books and pencils and leaving a set of these on every child's place will help to keep them a load quieter during the meal and the speeches!
