Do you think it’s possible to train your brain? Is it possible to actually train your brain to achieve what you want? In other words, do you think it’s possible to learn how to become better, for example, at problem-solving or visualisation or goal-achieving - it's an interesting question isn't it? The thrust of the work of many popular writers dealing with the laws of success expounded by people like James Allen, Charles F Haanel, Napoleon Hill and Wallace D Wattles is essentially that you can.

By learning how to work with your mind, it is possible to learn how to access the creativity that is within you or is connected with you - depending upon your belief system. Some of these writers suggest that creativity lies within the universal mind, the creative mind or even God, but the truth of it is that you can learn how to use that creativity whatever the actual source of inspiration.

There has been much popular writing on learning how to access this universal creativity - that was, indeed, the central theme of the movie and book The Secret. However, many of these writers omit the crucial link between creative thinking and taking action. For me, the Master Key System by Charles F Haanel makes this link very clear. He says that what is given out to the universal mind is thought; and what is received is also thought.

The above makes it very clear that you can do all the thinking and visualisation you want but, unless you translate some of those thoughts into action, nothing will change as a result of all that thinking - or programming as some people seem to prefer to call it. Now, don’t misunderstand me here, I do believe that visualisation and directed though are important activities, but by themselves they don’t change anything. To effect change, you need to take action.

Taking the right action is what visualisation is all about. You need to take actions that are consistent with your vision and your goals in order to produce the results you want. The ideas you need and the solution to the problems you need to solve along the way are the contribution of the universal mind - whether you view this mind as external to yourself or a part of yourself.

So learning how to train, or program, your brain is important. It is the way you access that reservoir of creativity. What is given out is thought; and what is received is also thought. But those thoughts lead to actions; and those actions change your reality so that your dreams can indeed become a reality.
