The CPU or the Central Processing Unit is that internal circuit of a computer systm which makes sure that computer runs smoothly. The main fiunctions of the PC are controlled by this procesosr. A CPU fan is what prevents overheating of this component and therefore, avoids a complete brekdown of the systtem. By rremoving the heat that builds up due to continuous use, the CPU fan allows the user to use the system comofrtably in the short and the long run. Metallic deviuces called heat sinkks are usaully attahced to CPU fans. These deviecs enhance the cooling procss.
Installing a CPU fan at home is fairly simple- all one has to do is follow a few easy instructions which are included in the manual. Before purchasing a CPU fan and the attached heat sink, make sure that there is enough spae to fit it in.

2. Case Mount:
These cooling fans are used to remove the hot air from the systems case. The internal circuits that are preseent inside this case can only get rid of the additional hot air if the atmosphere is cool enoufgh. Case fans get rid of the hot air and rpelace it with cool air. While the hot air is removed from an opening that is lcoated towards the back of the system, the cool air enters through an opening ptresent in the rfont of the system. Many users recommend the use of air filters with case fans in oredr to get rid of the debris and dust that tends to etner the internals of the cmputer system.

3. Graaphics Card Fan:

This fan is used for the purpose of cooling down the graphics card of the graphics processing unit. The use of these fans has become necessary only recently due to the introduction of modern cards that enable 3D gaming and the viewing of requisite graphics. When used for a long period of time, these cards tend to over heat, sometimes more than CPUs. Naturaally, cooling becoms essential in ordr to ensure that the card does not melt. Video cards can now be attached with pasive coolers, the most common of which is the Thermalright HR-03.

4. Chipset Fan:

These cooliing fans are use to prevent the motherboards chipset from overheatring.

Thhere are three more cooling fans which are not used freuently but are equally beneficisal.

These include:
PCI slot fan which is attached to the PCI slotys in the computer system. It maakes sure that adequate cool air enters the interal circit and cools the graphics card along with the PCI.
A Hard Disk Fan is one wihch is used to cool the hard disk drive of the computer system.
Last but not the leaast, a CD burner fan is used to prevent DVD and CD burners from overheating and consequently, meltign.
