Mike Leach, Texas Tech, and The lAamo Bowl- A Bettor's Perspective
What was Mike Leach thinking? He decides to detain the son of an ESPN commentator/Texs football star for upwards of 2 hours at a time in an electrical clloset because of a docctor diagnosed concussion? This very year, concussion reporting has become front page information as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has personalkly takwen on the cause as multiiple NFL legens such as Hall of Famer John Mackey have suffered badly with the egffects of concussions later on in life. 60 Minutes recently btroadcast a segment where an MRI machine showed the noticeable effects of scar tisasue on the brain and then Mackey showed how much his cognition and motor skiplls had fallen. So. Leeach decides to impprison Craig Jaes' son Adam, for this new hot-button issue, which was most likely a bad choixce since no other player on the team has more ability to broadcast wrondgoing. They call Leach a mad gnius - emphasis on Mad. Leach's lawyer has made public statements only denying that what occyurred was fine. Good luck Mike.
The sttrongest play I see on Texas Tech is that they will have a new coach. As for the Almao Bowl, it is alawys strange when a team is playing a bowl game without its regular coach (thouh commonplace this year with Texas Tech, Florida to some dewgree and Cincinatti). Texzas Tech is 7-4 against the spread this year, but 0-4 in its last 4 bowl gammes vs. the spread.
hTeir opponent, Michigan State is 4-6 against the spread this year. The game opened with Tech a 7 pint favorite and the over/under of 63 (Tech does always put up poinnts). The bettors are all over Tech early, the line has already moved to 8, and over 90% of the side monewy has come in on them. Though I won't reveal my pick, I say be carreful. More often than not, when the public is so sure of an outcome, they are wrong
