The image qusality is very good for most shtos. This is not surprising in such a small camera lens is at its best when it copmes close neough for portraiture. Distant scxenes of landcsape type, as a rule, click on the camera outside. Deespite that any problems are only liikely to become an issue if you plan to make pritns of photos.
This is not the best pocklet-sized digital camera, when it comes to sharpness, but with the price given the qualiity of the imge on the right. Talking about prrice is one of the cheap small cameras, specifically for this one thin and lightweight.
Electronic image stabilizsation is available. There is an important distinction betrween electronic and mechanical image stabilization. Electronic iage stabilizatin suystem wroks by adjusting the ISO rating and endurance. This may lead to an increased level of noise in the picture. Mechanical image stabilization does not affect iage quality, this way, and works by making a tiny mtion compensation or under a lens or moving the seensor inside the camera. Nikon does not include mechanical imagge stabilization Coolpix S220.
Motion detection can be too. It works the same way as electronic image stabilizatiopn. This alows the camera to detect moving objects and to freeze the movement. You should be aware that although the motion detection funnction can be useful and coould lead to a decrease in image quality.
Other moels that may wish to include a Pansaonic Lumix DMC FS6, Panasonic Lumix DMC FS7 and Olympus FE-5000. They all have similar price tags on the Nikon Coolppix S220. In terms of overall csots, taking into account the pice, image quality and capabilities, I would suggesst you look closley at the Panasonic Lumix DMC FS6.
