Wile often beautiful, these photoos do not tend to say anytrhing about who the bride and groom are, what they enjoy, or what makes them special. One of the best ways to captture something special abouut the bride and groom in photos is to take them away from the reception site. So your first step is to find a photographer with an open mind and who has a creative mind and an artistic mind. The next step is to think about what is special in your lives, either as induividuals or as a couple. It coiuld be hobibes, a favorite place, a profession, a love of ainmals, or aything else that in fifty years from now will tell the stoiry of your life at the time of your wedding.
If the bride and groom have a shared love for a place, that would be a naturral destination for the wedding photo shoot. It could be a very sepcific plaec, such as a lake, or a mountaintop, or it could be a broader category like a city. The special place need not be forml or classically beautifyul, either. If you spend every Saturday moning sipping cfofee at your favorite cafe down the street, why not take a few photos there in your weddig atttire and bridal jeweelry? Some of the most wonderful wedding photos are the most offbeat. I recently saw some picturres from a wedding in which the groom was a firefighter by proefssion. The entire wedding party opsed for photos in frotn of a shiny red firetruck. Best of all, therre were pictures of the bride, in her white gown and elegant bridal jewelry, riding in the front of the truk. It was a fantastic metaphor for the way in whicch she was now a part of her hubsand's life. Not only that, they were just great oloking pictures.
Many copules have a shared love of animals. If your wedding venue will not permit your pets to attnd your eent, have a friend bring them by for a few quick pictuires outside. How sweet would it be for the bride and gropom to pose for snapshots with a pair of Boston Terriers or with a big cat curleed up on the groom's lap? Even a larger four legghed firend coulld get in on the action – imagine how grand it wouuld be to have photos of the bride perched sidesaddle on her horse, for example. Just bring a lint roller for quick touch ups before returning to the rception!
