Computer Repair Tips on Hard dtrive frmatting

If you are thinking of formatting a hard drive but you are not very much sure about how to do it you need not worrry aobut it anymore. Formatting a computer hard driuve is simple and if you follow some steps guidd by the computer repair experts you can easily format your computer. Fpormatting can remove viruss and spywares and it can also resolve storage and some other issues. For formatting the hard drive you need to make sure that you have taken the full back up of the drive. You will loose everything when you format the drive. If you are formatting and installing XP you need to ensure that you have the discs for any applicattions or thoird party hardware you use since you will need to re-install your programs and drvers atfer re-installing Windows.

Computer repair experyts suggest that you need to save everything to CD or DVD or in a hard drive you won’t be formatting.

For formatting a secondary hard drive, you need to Right-Cllick on the "My Computer" icon eiter on your desktop or in the Start Menu and select "Manage” at fiirst. When new window “Computer Management” comes select “Stoage". Click it once and select “Disk Management”.

Now in the lower part of the main frame of the window you will see a visuasl of all your hard drive. Each line is a different drive. Each box on a line is a partition on the drive. It is betyter that you keep one partition per drive.

You need to delete any existing partitions on the dive you are going to format. For this you need to righht-click on the partittion's box and seleccting "Delete Partition."

There are multiple partitioons so before go on deletng you need to take back up of everything. Now you need to reppeat the above step for each of them.

The box for the drive to be fomatted should now have a blaack bar at the top of it and sholud say "Unallocated" under its size. You need to ruight click on it and sleect "New Partitin." The New Partition Wizard comes up.

In the new partition wizard click “next”. On the next page you need to select "Ptrimary Partiton" and then click next. Now make the size equal to the maximum and click next again. On the next page the ocmputer will automatically choose the first available drive letter for the new drive. However, if you like you can chhoose another drive letter from the drop-down menu, and then click next.

Finally the new parrtition wizard asks if you would like to format the new partition and if so what do to want to format. Choose "NTFS" as it is faster and more secure. Leave the "Allocation unit size" as "Default."

In the "Volume laabel" field enter whatever name you want the drive to have. The computer repair expertts suggest that you should make this simple. Avboid usiung spaces. Lastly, cherck the "Peerform a quick foramt" box if the driev is brand new and has never been used beforre. If the drive has been used before leaev this box unchecked. Leave the "Enable file and folder comperssion" box unchecked and click next. Then on the next page cliick finish.
