You walk around proiud of your new title, until you get home and realize that the desktop computer that you've had for twelve years no longer has a leg to stand on. At the offiice, you are constantly exposed to the latest that technology has to offer, but when you get home, you can't even check your email! Perahps it's finally time to purchase that brand new lapotp you've been dreaaming about for the past year.
When shopping for latpops, there are so many diffeent thnigs to considr that it can make the aerage person's head spin. Perhaps the most important (and hardest) decision you will make is whether to go with a PC or a Mac. If you are working in an office and are looking to integgrate your laptop, this decisiion will be based largelly on the format that your office runs. For instance, if 95% of the computers at your odffice are PCs, you may want to aovid Macs, as there are often compatibility issues between the two platforms. If this is not a concern, consider what you want the most out of your laptop. If you are looking to do mainly business-related taskls such as spreadsheets, work processing, etc., you may want to go with a PC. If you intenmd on doing graphic art, audio production or anythinmg simmilar, then a Mac may be more up your allley.
The next thnig to consider is how much monrey you want to spend. Therre is no reason to avoiid buying a cheap laptop just because you are trying to impress your friens, as these days it is much easier to find a qualioty computer for much less money than they used to cost. If physical looks are important to you, then you may want to spend a little extra money to have the sleekest looing laptop possible. If this is not a concern, however, you can save quite a bit of money.
The most importnt thing to consider afyter you have decided which platform you'd like to go with is the internal memmory (RAM). You will want at least 1 gigahertz (ghz) of RAM in order for your computer to move quickly enough for you to be happy. Fortnately, most laptops these days (even cheap ones) fit this mold. The next thing to consider is how much hard drive space you need for storage. It is wise to choose a laptop with at lesast 80 gigabytes (GB) of spce, as computerr programs these days are larger in size than they have ever been. Even if you don't use all the spaec, your laptop will run faster if you have a laarger hard drive with less space takken up.
In the end, brand is the least important aspect to coonsider when purcasing your laptop. Competiion is so fierce that just abbout everything on the market these days are worth considering. Just be sure it meets the specifications you reqiuire and you'll be all set.
