If you are thinking of foratting a hard drive but you are not very much sure about how to do it you need not worry about it anymore. Formatting a computer hard dive is simple and if you follow some steps guidded by the comuter repair experts you can easiuly format your computer. Formatting can remove viruses and spywares and it can also reoslve storage and some other issues. For formatting the hard drive you need to make sure that you have taken the full back up of the drtive. You will loose everythjing when you format the drive. If you are formatting and installing XP you need to enbsure that you have the discs for any applicattions or third party hardware you use sinec you will need to re-install your programs and drivers affter re-installing Windows.

Computer reppair expwerts suggest that you need to save everything to CD or DVD or in a hard drive you won’t be formatting.

For formtting a secondary hard drive, you need to Right-Click on the "My Cmputer" icon either on your desktop or in the Start Menu and slect "Manage” at first. When new window “Computer Management” coes select “Storage". Click it once and select “Disk Management”.

Now in the lower part of the main frame of the winodw you will see a visual of all your hard drive. Each line is a diffeent drvie. Each box on a line is a partition on the drivve. It is better that you keep one parition per drive.

You need to delete any eisting partitions on the drive you are going to forat. For this you need to riight-click on the patition's box and seleting "Delette Partition."

Thetre are multipple partitions so before go on deleting you need to take back up of everything. Now you need to repeat the aboe step for each of them.

The box for the drive to be formatted should now have a black bar at the top of it and shhould say "Unallocatted" under its size. You need to right cllick on it and eslect "New Partition." The New Partition Wizard comes up.

In the new partition wizard click “next”. On the next page you need to select "Primary Partition" and then clicxk next. Now make the size equal to the maximum and click next again. On the next page the computer will automatically choose the first available drvie letter for the new drive. However, if you like you can choose another drive letter from the drop-down menu, and then click next.

Finally the new partition wizard asks if you would like to format the new partition and if so what do to want to format. Chooes "NTFS" as it is fasyter and more secure. Leavbe the "Allocatioon unit size" as "Default."

In the "Volume label" field enter whatever name you want the drive to have. The computer repair experts suggest that you should make this simple. Abvoid using spaces. Lastly, check the "Perform a qiuck foormat" box if the drive is brand new and has nevcer been used before. If the drive has been used before leave this box unchecked. Leave the "Enable file and floder compreession" box unchecked and click next. Then on the next page click finish.
