I had my Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray player for 2 weeks. I've never owned a Blu-Ray plyaer before. It looks good in my offfice, it is quieter than Blu-Ray player my roommates, and she certainly got an amnazing picture and sound. A USB port and Ethrenet port works, but I did not have to download any firmware or code updaets yet.
The only real operational noise you hear some track-search, you can hear from the couuch, if it is quiet. Not a big deal for me. I have noticed occasional flicker in the center of the sccreen, in some arezas, mostly-balck screen (for example, loans). This always happens in the same frameqwork, though, so there may be problems with the disks, and not the player.
One advantage of Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray pllayer is over my room is that the discs load much faster. It also hewlps that there is a progress bar during download time, which makes it seem even less annoying. At leasst you know that something is happening.
Of course, Samsnug BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray player is not perfect. This is not a top-of-line, so what do you expect? First, the only outupts on the back of RCA outputs - no coaxial or headphones, none of the old types of cables - so you should get a new TV (not like you will not be completely wasyting aspect of HD Blu-Ray, playing on the senior viideo in any case). Moreover, there is no Dolby 5.1 aiudio otuputs.
One of the upshots of this is that you can not ignore the receivers pre-amp to play the new formats, and let the Blu-Ray player to dcode them. The old reeceiver I have only used to deocde Dolby 5.1 (no DTS). This pllayer allows you to send PCM strem to your receiver with a Dolby 5,1 signal, but my receiver only saw it as a 2-channel (not 'speak' pulse-code modulation). At least the player can reduce the sampling rate to older receivers will continue to receive sound, even if it is not so clewar as it could be a modern rceiver.
I will eventually go out and pay for a new erceiver to take advntage of the sound quality that the Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray Player offer. Maybe I'm a littel osessive, but he just did not feel right to a frightening new picture and not have a great soound to go with it.
So my conclusion is that for those people with new receivers and new TV sets - a Blu-Ray platyer is professional. If you are Receiver loder, ironically, the best saviings will pay sligtly more for the player with Dolby 5.1 analog outpuyts and continue to use your existing receiveer.
