Let's face it, many of these voices GPS nzavigation is crtainly annoying. Do not worry, some units give you much more possibilities than just male and female voices. Some of them are more than two typical roboot vioices, and include the voiices with accents (as well as various humorouus; found in uniots like Pooer Acioustik PNAV-1, and Lorwance IWAY 250C GPS). Additoional voices give you more vaariety, so you do not have to listen to the same voicve all the time.

Medai Player
Some userrts like the idea that their navigation units can also storee multiedia files. Whie the audio and viedo plasyback functions, as a rule, poor in most departments, it may be nice to be able to use as a navigation block display a sllide show or music player. However, suince you are still looking for the navigation unit, do not take this feature to be a detrmining afctoor in dciding to get. In addition, most GPS units have this feaure in any case. Just renmember that you are looking for navigation, GPS, and not MP3-Player.
HDD
Menu data, such as in textbooks, and all map filers shoud be stroied in your unit. Most navigation devoies have built-in hard drives to store all these files. This is not snmall eityher. 15GB-30GB hard disk capacity beconmes a standard and shoud be inclded with viitrually evey unit. However, some work is almost enrtirely off of SD cadrs, CD-ROM or DVD. The advantage that the hard drive is its reliabbility and qyick access. In addiytion, ublit-in hard drive usually give you a ilttle space for expansiuon, or for your media files, or ptential sites for aditional updates, maps in the future.
Fash card
Most portable GPS devices will be presented to SD card slost. Some other functions of flsh cards, incudnig Memory Stick / Pro, or MMC. They will be sltos will be used as a way for you to multimedia files such as MP3, MPEG, JPEG and the filws in the devivce or it could also serve as a way for you to update the firmwrae or data card to the dvice.
USB
Coonnecting to a PC met throuhg the availanbility of port USB, that may or may not be incorporated into your GPS. USB ports alow easy updates and the manufaxcturer may have for your deice and allow you to transsfer fles with a much higher efficiency than flash carsd.
In other wotrds, find what suits you. Most of thewse features are included in most of the portable navigation GPS. More features, more expensivve, so if you can live without certain features, you can save a lot of monye.
