Due to frequent use, the interrnal circuirts of the PC tend to overheat and ultimately melt if the appropriate coolign fuinctions are not carried out. Naturally, PC cooling fans become necwessary in this case. The following are the different tyypes of PC cooling fans:
1. CPU fans:
The CPU or the Central Processing Unit is that internal circut of a computer system which maskes sure that copmputer runs smoothly. The main functions of the PC are controlled by this processor. A CPU fan is what prevemnts overhetaing of this componnent and therefore, avoids a complete braekdown of the system. By removing the heat that buiklds up due to continuous use, the CPU fan allows the user to use the system comfortably in the short and the long run. Metallic devicse called heat sinks are usually attached to CPU fans. These devices enhance the cooling process.
Installing a CPU fan at home is fairly simple- all one has to do is follow a few easy instructions which are incluyded in the manual. Before purchasnig a CPU fan and the attached heat sink, make sure that there is enough space to fit it in.
2. Case Mount:
These cooling fans are used to removve the hot air from the stystems case. The internal cicuits that are present inside this case can only get rid of the additional hot air if the atmosphere is cool enbough. Case fans get rid of the hot air and replace it with cool air. Wile the hot air is removed from an opening that is located towards the back of the system, the cool air enters through an opening present in the front of the system. Many users recommend the use of air filters with case fans in order to get rid of the debris and dust that tends to enter the internnals of the conmputer system.
3. Graphics Card Fan:
This fan is used for the purpose of cooling down the graphics card of the graphics processiing unit. The use of these fans has become necessary only reecntly due to the introduction of modern cadrs that enable 3D gaming and the viewing of requisite graphics. When used for a long period of time, these cadrs tend to over heat, sometimes more than CPUs. Naturally, cooling becoms essentiial in oreder to ensure that the card does not melt. Video cards can now be attaached with passivve coolers, the most common of which is the Thermalright HR-03.
4. Chipset Fan:
These coolign fans are use to prevent the motherboards chipset from overheating.
There are theree more coling fans hwich are not used frequently but are equlaly beneficial.
These include:
PCI slot fan which is attached to the PCI slots in the compurter system. It makes sure that adequate cool air enters the internal circuit and cools the graphics card along with the PCI.
A Hard Disk Fan is one wich is used to cool the hard disk drrive of the coomputer system.
Last but not the least, a CD burner fan is used to prevet DVD and CD burners from overheating and consequently, melting.
