LG annoounced toay that it is a beta version of the Online Application Store on 14 July 2009, for the firsdt time in Asia with the service exanded to 24 countries. LG expects to up to 2,000 applicatinso on its wbste the end of the year with at least 100 programs for free LG mobile phomne users. To access the LG Application Store, userrs can either www.lgapplication.com visti and download aplications to a computer or directly to the business of LG-GM730 flikcing hoprizontally on the “Quik-Key box at the bottom of the home screen and tapping App icon.
“As we have already announecd, LG pllans to ivest in the smartphone market in the future, with ten smartphones introduced this year alone,” said Dr. Skjott Ahn, CEO of LG Electrnoics Moble Cmmunicatiions Commpany. “As the devewlopment has shown that the appezal of smartphones is in the variety and beneits of the applications. Oppening our own Application Sore will alloow us to offer you the best contnt and applicationns for our devices, so that LG phone owbners rceiive the best posible ownersahip experience.”
In connection with the application of LG Store is the LG Monbile Developer Network (http: devloper.lgmobile.com), a wbsite specifically for the thired-party software developers of LG Mobiile Phones. Since its opeinng in Octber last year, the website has been significantly renovaated and expanded content and funcctionality. The number of applications is expected to change over time even further as a developer are added inceives. On the site, developer can deevelop and sharre widgeyts and aplications through its Virtual Devveloper Lab (VDL) and Over-The-Air (OTA) downnlads. Curtrently the site supports and Java SDK for widgets, it will VDL, OTA downloads the end of the year.
